WEAN YOUR KIDS OFF ADHD PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS

You are to be commended for researching the use of natural alternatives.

As you know, Adderall, Ritalin and Concerta are amphetamine stimulants and if they have been used for some time, your child will probably experience withdrawal symptoms when they are stopped. These are usually fatigue and moodiness, often with frequent tears and low tolerance levels, which can last up to 2 or 3 weeks. Do not suddenly stop the prescription meds! It is also always a good idea to discuss your plans with your doctor if possible.

To wean off Adderall, Native Remedies suggests the following:

1. Try to find the least stressful time possible to begin to reduce the dosage. If possible, have a trusted person support your child during this time.

2. As our BrightSpark formula can be taken together with any of these drugs without any adverse effects, we recommend that your child begin taking BrightSpark a week or two before he/she decide to start cutting down on the Adderall. Incidentally, BrightSpark is also particularly effective for those who have difficulty with anger and violent impulses. Some people experience an almost immediate improvement with BrightSpark, while for others, a 3 - 5 week period is needed to see significant results. Begin taking the BrightSpark exactly as directed on the bottle.

3. After a week or two of the BrightSpark, halve the dosage of the Adderall for about a week and then take the reduced dosage every second day for a further week. While all may go smoothly, be prepared for some difficult times and try and ensure that there is as little stress during this time, as possible. At this point your child can also begin a full dosage of Focus Formula, if you are combining our two remedies (often a good idea).

4. If all goes well after this, you can safely cut out the prescription drug and continue with BrightSpark and Focus Formula.
